Bridal Competition
Each quarter, one Marinello campus is selected to participate in an in-school competition. San Francisco was chosen for our 3rd Quarter 2010 competition, where students were judged on hair, make-up and nails. The entire campus was filled with an indescribable and amazing energy throughout the entire competition! Click inside to view all the recap photos on the event.

Bridal Competition At Redding
Vintage charm and sophistication was celebrated at an annual Bridal Competition at Redding campus. Students won awards for presenting their amazing skills styling bridal hair, nails and make-up. Check out their creativity at work!

The Glam Rock
The Portland Campus held an all student competition entitled “The Glam Rock.” The competition involved teams of 5 students from all levels and disciplines. Each team chose a model and randomly assigned a pop star to create. The students had such a great time, they were judged on hair, nails, make-up, positive teamwork, and overall appearance. The judges were representatives from local companies that hire beauty students- Dosha Spa, JC Penney Salon, Sports Clips, etc and a very special guest - Judge Sharon Christensen. Congratulations to the winners: Team Christina Aguilera won 1st Place, Team Rihanna won 2nd Place, & Team Prince won 3rd Place. This is just one of the ways Marinello students go ALL out for a friendly fun competition!

Students Competition at the Long Beach International Beauty Expo
Marinello students celebrate 105 Years at the Long Beach International Beauty Expo as they compete through the ages. Student stylists showcased their creativity and talent by working with models to portray hairstyles, makeup, and attire from time periods between 1905-present. Competitions ran every hour on the hour and the winners of the competition received scholarships towards advanced education workshops. Check out their glamorous style through the years!

Marinello Celebrates 105 Years at the Long Beach International Beauty Expo. The Long Beach International Beauty Expo has been voted the nation's best beauty expo and industry educational event.
Marinello took guests back in time with Marinello through the Years, a retrospective student competition for the ages. Student stylists showcased their creativity and talent by working with models to portray hairstyles, makeup, and attire from time periods between 1905-present. Competitions ran every hour on the hour and the winners of the competition received scholarships towards advanced education workshops. Check out their glamorous style through the years!

Here Comes the Bride
Elegance was the word of the day at the “Here Comes the Bride” student competition at Marinello’s San Diego campus. Students showcased their creativity and talent with exquisite bridal hair and make-up styles.
Seventeen beauty industry representatives served as judges and guest speakers.

Belleza Juvenil International
Students from Marinello's Paramount and Burbank campuses helped participants get ready for their close up at the Belleza Juvenil talent show. Students worked backstage, performing hair and make-up services
on the participants. This is another example of the amazing opportunities Marinello students have - helping others look great, while showcasing their talent and working next to established beauty professionals.

Marinello Schools of Beauty brought home three awards from Supercuts’ SUPERSUNDAY 2010 event. Marinello Reseda campus instructor Vicky Delgado, took home the Ultimate Teacher award for her outstanding work, while Marinello Moreno Valley campus student Mayra Pulido earned 2nd place for her interpretation of “Lady Gaga”, and Marinello’s El Cajon campus student Jarrod Dumas won 3rd place with his interpretation of Vanilla Ice. We are proud of all our winners and participants for representing Marinello at this competition!

Marinello Winners of Junior Style Stars 2010 Announced
Students from Marinello’s Ogden, Provo, & San Bernardino campuses were recognized in the top 10 of the 4th annual Junior Style Stars competition. Junior Style Stars is the largest cosmetology student competition in the world. Over 324 participants from over 40 states submitted a bridal hairstyle on identical mannequin heads. Check out Marinello’s winning hairstyles.

Earth Day
Marinello’s North Hollywood campus celebrated Earth Day in style! Student teams competed in a hair and nail

Moreno Valley “Texture to Perfection 2010 Competition” The Theme: 20th century hair
Students had a blast participating in the Textured to Perfection competition at Marinello's Moreno Valley campus.
Here they show sheer perfection and boast their skills, talent, & creativity. They had a day of fun networking with
Beauty professionals as well as compete for top prizes.

Sit/Pass and Placement Award
Marinello's Burbank, El Cajon, and San Diego campuses were awarded with Marinello's Sit/Pass and Placement Award for their outstanding work and dedication to helping their students succeed. At least 90% of eligible students at these campuses sat for the state license exam; of those, as least 90% passed the exam; of those at least 90% were successfully placed in a career in the Beauty Industry.

Annual Masquerade Ball
Students at Marinello’s Ogden campus participated in the 1st Annual Masquerade Ball. The event featured a fashion show, competition, and dancing extravaganza! Models paraded in costumes, wore extravagant hair styles created by our cosmetology students, and carried masquerade masks made of make-up by our esthetics students. The Ball was a huge success and provided students and the community to share in a celebration of beauty and fashion.
